چکیده
The purpose of this paper was to analyze palm oil biodiesel production under different conditions and verify the relationships between variables in order optimize biofuel using response surface methodology (RSM). Biodiesel produced through transesterification process by methyl route alkali catalyst (NaOH) 1% (m/m). analyzed were: four molar ratios (3:1, 4:1, 6:1 8:1); three temperature reactions (45°, 52° 60°C); time (40, 60 80 minutes). For production, highest yield 93%, obtained via a rate 3:1, 52°C minutes. This result differs from previous studies that found higher with ratio increases, implying greater expenses methanol. Kinetic viscosity specific mass were also analyzed, values are within Brazilian, American, European standards. results showed most influent factor rate. In relation characterization, RMN H1 technique, it possible obtain reaction 79.50% for 3:1 biodiesel. Through gas chromatography, can be verified predominant fatty acids samples palmitic oleic acids.

A response surface methodology (RSM) was used to analyze the influence of the process variables (molar ratio of methanol to castor oil, catalyst concentration, reaction ti...
متن کاملOptimization of Lipase-Catalyzed Transesterification of Cotton Seed Oil for Biodiesel Production Using Response Surface Methodology
The aim of this work was to study the biodiesel production from cotton seed oil by lipase produced by Pichia guilliermondii lipase, which was immobilized onto hydrophobic magnetic particles (HMPs). The optimum reaction conditions were determined for lipase dosage, methanol-to-oil molar ratio, temperature and water content. Using response surface methodology, a quadratic polynomial equation was ...
متن کاملBiodiesel Production from Crude Cottonseed Oil: An Optimization Process Using Response Surface Methodology
Biodiesel, known as fatty acid methyl ester (FAME), was produced from crude cottonseed oil (triglycerides) by transesterification with methanol in the presence of sodium hydroxide. This process was optimized by applying factorial design and response surface methodology (RSM) with SAS and PSIPLOT programs. A second-order mathematical model was obtained to predict the yield as a function of metha...
متن کاملAlkaline Earth Metal Oxide Catalysts for Biodiesel Production from Palm Oil: Elucidation of Process Behaviors and Modeling Using Response Surface Methodology
Four different alkaline earth metal oxides i.e. MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO were used as heterogeneous catalysts for biodiesel production from palm oil. Effects of critical process variables i.e. reaction time, methanol to oil ratio and temperature were investigated. The results were then fitted to a historical design to study the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), to characterize interactions between...
